California State Capitol Park – Engagement Session
These two are SO sweet to each other. Danielle and Chad originally found me from a friend of their recommendation. They wanted a capitol engagement shoot so we went straight to the California State Capitol Park. This location features a lot of beautiful greenery and architecture.
As a Sacramento engagement photographer, I come across a lot of couples and I always make sure the two are as cozy as possible. It can be intimidating to get in front of a professionals camera for the first time and I wanted to ease them in.

Danielle and Chad were game for anything however and they were soon, with just a bit of coaching, were posing like pros. Getting a client to feel comfortable in front of me and my client is always my first and favorite hurdle.
Adding laughter to a shoot is an easy thing, and that is usually my go-to. You’ll see how when we meet!
Unfortunately, we found out that the capitol building was going through some exterior construction when we arrived, but we made the most of the shoot anyway, and even managed to make it right at sunset to the Tower Bridge for some candids! They were lovely.
This truly was such a special shoot. Danielle spoke to my second shooter (Devon) and I about how they feel gratitude having found each other after all of these years looking for “the one”, and how excited they are to settle down and start a family.
At the time Devon and I had just recently found that I was expecting, and I felt so much joy in our news and the similar mindset of this couple that we chose to share. We probably should have waited, as I was only about 8 weeks at the time, but once I decide on opening my heart to someone there seems to be no good reason to hold back. I loved how the two made the other laugh and how interested they were in experimenting for photographs. It was truly a special occasion. I cannot wait to share their wedding images with you. Stay tuned!!!
